Practitioners of Solution Focus (SF) will probably be familiar with Mark McKergow’s work developing SF ideas in organisational settings, and pioneering the concept of Host Leadership. Over the last few months, Mark has been combining these two approaches in a new context (for him) – building micro-local communities in urban settings, otherwise known as Village In The City.
In this session Mark talks about what led him to make this move, how Village In The City is particularly important for the world today, and how the project is developing so far (14 villages-in-the-city so far, from the US west coast to Bulgaria).
He will also show how SF ideas underpin the approach, used along with a novel framework to help anyone see what’s working, and what isn’t yet, about their neighbourhood. There will be plenty of chance to ask questions and to meet and chat with fellow participants on the day.
