SFiO - Solution Focus in Organisations · It is nice to have someone who actually cares Introduced by Guy Shennan Listening to this discussion about D-BIT’s drop in service was a joy. My route into solution-focused practice was via social work, and I have always felt that this approach offers a way for social workers to practise that adheres to our values. This is by no means easy in the contemporary social care context. This is borne out here by the D-BIT workers and two of the young people who made use of their drop in.
Greg has been using the Solution Focused approach for over ten years now with a particular focus on family work.
He is currently the Training Team lead in the D-BIT service within Essex Social Care, where he helps to keep families together where it is safe and appropriate to do so.
Greg is a published author, and he is also a co-founder of Solution Focused Possibilities where he provides sessions, supervision, training, etc. Greg has a passion for supporting others to develop their practice to a high standard, which has led to him being the co-lead for UKASFP Accreditation.
Loredana is a social worker passionate about Solution Focused and its “magic” that helps people use their strengths and make the changes they want in their lives. Loredana is keen to keep up to date with the ever evolving thinking and brilliant contributions to the field by Solution Focused practitioners globally.
Luke Goldie-McSorley is a passionate and proud Social Worker in the DBIT service in Essex, UK Children’s Social care.
Nearing 10 years as a Social Worker working in Solution Focused (SF) Edge of care & Emotional wellbeing work, with some of the most high risk, strained, oppressed, unsafe and challenging families and circumstances.
The success of Luke’s work and the incredible work of his colleagues in the DBIT service in Essex has led to the point of inspiring the small steps of SF revolution in Social Work practice. With the benefit of extensive time with BRIEF and Elliott Connie over the last 10 years, Luke has gone on to love SF in practice every day with children, young people, adults, families and in supervision.
