This workshop focuses on a systems approach to skill building that empowers organisational staff to bring solution-focused (SF) principles to their client outcomes, creating a company-wide SF culture.
By highlighting targeted training, Lance shows how educators can foster organisation-wide conversations, predicated on skill building and developing these SF principles with the staff and in the classroom. Professionals are then equipped to model the culture that enables clients to focus on capacities to change rather than on a pattern of problem-thinking.
We first work through a few scenarios around prevalent behaviours and then compare the differences between initial approaches. We will then walk through this SF approach using Ben Furman’s Kids’ Skills and discuss how this can apply to your meetings and the skills you hope to create in your teams and clients.
Lance aims to inspire and empower staff to facilitate change by always seeing our colleagues and clients as partners in lasting solutions. Participants will discuss the possible benefits that arise from these trusted relationships—namely, creating an atmosphere that acknowledges difficulties while always prioritising a mindset of what is possible and right for all involved in the work. If you want to spearhead a pendulum shift, this talk is for you!
